The Essence of the Vineyard Bed & Breakfast is a pleasant spot of America, located in the Missouri Ozark Heritage Region, just 5 miles east of St.James.
The Inn is located near Historic Route 66, "The Mother Road", in the very unique neighborhood of Rosati. This is the perfect stop for your first night out of Chicago on that "ROAD TRIP" to Los Angeles.

With easy access to U.S. Route 44, the location is almost the center of every thing. Less than 90 miles west of St. Louis, St. James is home to Boys and Girls Town of Missouri, the MO Veteran's Home, and the James Foundation to mention a few. We are also in the middle of the Missouri Wine Country, hosting local award winning wineries.
Maramec Springs Park, which is the third largest exposed natural spring in MO, is a beautiful 15 minute drive, and offers great Trout Fishing, nature hikes, historical museums, and the first Iron Works Factory built west of the Mississippi River. With the Spring comes the Meramac River for float trips or canoeing. If antiquing is your pleasure, there are numerous shops in and around town to visit.
The University of Missouri, Rolla Campus is a simple and quick drive and Fort Leonard Wood is about a half hour via Interstate 44.
History abounds in this region: From Archaic Native American, Louisiana Purchase, Westward Expansion, Civil War... The list goes on.
Relaxing near the seasonal swimming pool, or under the covered patio, you will be able to watch the birds and rabbits in the ever changing vineyard, listen to the soft sounds of Saint Anthony's Church Bells toll on the hour.
Centrally located, it is an easy drive to Branson, Jefferson City, Columbia, St. Louis, and Eastern Missouri. Make us your headquarters for exploring great area attractions such as Onondaga Cave State Park, Dillard Mill and the beauty of the eastern Missouri mountains.
